Every country must have its own infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI) in order to harness its economic potential while simultaneously protecting its culture, stated the CEO of the American chip manufacturer Nvidia.

– You cannot allow others to build it for you – said Jensen Huang at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

Thanks to its dominance in the high-end AI chip market, Nvidia’s market capitalization has since risen to $1.73 trillion.

Nvidia ‘democratizes’ access to artificial intelligence, claimed the head of the American company, and ‘it is up to you to take the initiative, activate your industry, build the infrastructure, as soon as possible’.

He believes that the fear of the dangers posed by artificial intelligence is exaggerated, emphasizing that regulators have successfully established a framework for new technologies and sectors, such as automotive and aerospace.

– It is in the interest of some to scare people with new technology, to mystify the technology (of artificial intelligence – ed.), to suggest to people that they should not do anything in the field of that technology and leave that work to others. I think such a strategy would be wrong – said Huang.

In October, the U.S. imposed new restrictions on the export of certain groups of AI chips to China. In November, Nvidia announced that it is working with clients in China and the Middle East to obtain export licenses for new products that would comply with U.S. regulations.

The CEO of the American company did not speak on this topic on Monday, notes Reuters.
