The City of Zagreb has launched a web application that allows for complete transparent insight into the spending of the City of Zagreb’s budget, and through the application, the public can review all bank transactions of the City with legal and natural persons, starting from January 1, 2024. This means that from now on, citizens and all interested parties have direct access to information about payments from the City of Zagreb’s budget, which can be searched according to various parameters, as stated in the announcement.
– The City of Zagreb is opening up to the public in a way that is unprecedented, considering the size of the budget and the number of transactions. We are the largest public authority system that has such high financial transparency, and this is a historic step in financial transparency not only for Zagreb but for the entire Republic of Croatia – said the Mayor of the City of Zagreb Tomislav Tomašević.
– This is ultimate transparency when we talk about finances – added Tomašević, reminding that as early as 2023, the City of Zagreb introduced the practice of publishing the budget at the fourth level of detail, although the legal obligation is only the second level of detail.
