Industrial production in Croatia decreased in December of last year, following three months of growth, resulting in a slight decline for the entire previous year.
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) announced on Wednesday that industrial production in December fell by 4.3 percent compared to the previous month, while it slid by 0.9 percent compared to December 2022.
This marked the first annual decline in production after three months of growth.
In December, production fell in three out of five sectors, with the most significant drop of 13.9 percent in the production of durable goods for general consumption.
Following with a decline of 11.2 percent was the production of capital goods, while energy production weakened by 0.7 percent.
On the other hand, the production of non-durable goods for general consumption increased by 3.9 percent, and intermediate goods by 1.4 percent year-on-year.
For the entire previous year, industrial production was 0.1 percent lower than a year earlier.
In this context, the production of durable goods for general consumption fell by 12.3 percent, intermediate goods by 2.8 percent, and energy by 0.6 percent.
Conversely, the production of capital goods increased by 5.6 percent last year, and non-durable goods for general consumption by 1.3 percent.
