Due to the new Sunday work law, stores and shopping centers are allowed to operate only 16 Sundays throughout the year. As a result, Kaufland has decided that it will not operate any Sundays in February. All Kaufland employees have a five-day work week regardless of (non)working Sundays.
Citizens are familiar with the new regulation regarding the operation of retail facilities on Sundays through the Trade Act. The law stipulates that stores have the right to operate 16 Sundays of their choice during the year and are closed on public holidays. This means that stores cannot operate every Sunday, so citizens must inform themselves before the weekend about what is open and where.
You can check the usual working hours of Kaufland stores on Kaufland’s website.
