HOK: Higher Cash Register Maximum Thresholds

From The Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts reported on Friday that their proposal to increase the cash register maximum thresholds for micro entities and craftsmen has been accepted, which they believe will facilitate business operations for craftsmen.

HOK states in a press release that the Regulation on Amendments and Supplements to the Regulation on Fiscalization in Cash Transactions has been published in the Official Gazette, which has increased the cash register maximum thresholds as of January 3 of this year – for micro entities and individuals from the previous €1,327.23 to €2,000; for small entities from €6,636.14 to €7,000; for medium entities from €10,617.82 to €12,000; and for entities exceeding the criteria that define small businesses from €13,272.28 to €15,000.

– We have repeatedly requested an increase in these thresholds to ease the business operations of craftsmen and other entrepreneurs, and we thank the Ministry of Finance for accepting the proposal and significantly increasing the thresholds specifically for micro entities and craftsmen – emphasized HOK President Dalibor Kratohvil.

The higher threshold, as noted by HOK, is particularly significant for all craftsmen or entrepreneurs operating through multiple business premises, as the cash register maximum applies to all of them collectively, except for large entities where the cash register maximum amount applies to each business premises.

– It is certainly important to note that the amount of tips, according to the rules in effect since January 1 of this year, does not count towards the cash register maximum, but must also be deposited into the business account, except when the tip is paid in cash, for which necessary documentation must be provided – said the President of the HOK Accounting Section, Đurđica Mostarčić, who initiated the legal amendment to the cash register maximum thresholds.
