Croatian Institute for Cybersecurity Awards Presented for the First Time

Croatian Institute for Cybersecurity organized a ceremony in the Gray Hall of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, where certificates and awards were presented to deserving individuals and organizations. The opening speeches were delivered by the Dean of FER, Prof. Dr. Sc. Vedran Bilas, and the President of HIKS, Prof. Dr. Sc. Drago Žagar.

In the initial part of the event, certificates were handed to sponsors, patrons, and supporters of the Cybersecurity Conference CSC 23, followed by the presentation of awards in four different categories.

Dario Vranješ received an award for outstanding student work titled ‘Acoustic Side-Channel and Other Keyboard Attacks Using Machine Learning Techniques’.

Bojan Novković was awarded for his prominent scientific work ‘Improving Monolithic Kernel Security and Robustness Through Intra-Kernel Sandboxing’.

Marko Gulan received recognition as a distinguished individual for his significant contribution to promoting cybersecurity in the Republic of Croatia through professional activities, educational initiatives, and active community participation.
