Interest in franchises in the domestic market is growing day by day, and at the same pace, the number of domestic systems opening new units in Croatia and abroad is also increasing. This has led to the establishment of the first (and only) Croatian Franchise Exchange, recently opened by Andrija Čolak, or rather his Colak Franchise Consulting group, after five years of consulting and designing franchises.
– The idea for opening the Franchise Exchange stemmed from the growing interest in franchises and the increase in the number of domestic franchise systems. It was created as a Croatian franchise portal that allows franchisees to find a rich offer of franchises, while franchisors can more easily reach potential franchisees. Additionally, the Franchise Exchange has an educational element, as it will create editorial that helps in better understanding franchise models and will thus better guide especially franchisees in the franchise industry to make informed decisions – Čolak told us.
The newly opened franchise exchange operates as a ‘market place‘ where the demand and supply of franchise systems in the domestic market meet. It is registered as a digital platform that facilitates business in the franchise sector, offering numerous advantages in terms of transparency and availability of information.
‘Developed markets already have similar channels’
Currently, around 100 franchisors are active on the exchange, with plans to expand to about 200 different franchise systems. This, Čolak believes, will provide far better insight into the franchise offer, facilitate transparency in business, and thereby accelerate the growth of domestic franchise systems.
