The fintech company Revolut has published data on spending through their eponymous app and card during the Black Friday weekend in Croatia, which has over 360,000 users. There were over 228,000 transactions, which is 6 percent more compared to last year, with more than half of those transactions made online. Revolut users spent a total of over 7.1 million euros during the Black Friday discounts last weekend, which is 15 percent more compared to the same period last year.
More than a third of the spending, Revolut adds, relates to the age group of 25 to 34 years (2.9 million euros), with an average spending of 70 euros in that group (last year 64 euros). The largest increase in spending was recorded by Revolut in the age group of 18 to 24 years (a total of 727,000 euros), 38 percent more compared to last year, with an average spent amount of 46 euros (last year 43 euros).
Among grocery stores, the most purchases through Revolut were made at Lidl, Spar, and Konzum, while clothing was mostly purchased at online stores About You, Zalando, and Asos. Users primarily bought electronics at the online store eKupi, followed by Apple and Dyson.
