The volume of construction work in September, according to seasonally adjusted indices, was 5.3 percent higher than in the same month last year, and 0.9 percent higher compared to August of this year, according to preliminary data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
DZS data shows that in September, the volume of work performed on buildings was 8.4 percent higher compared to September 2022, while the volume of work on other constructions remained at the same level.
Compared to August of this year, the volume of construction work on buildings was 1.7 percent higher, while on other constructions it was 0.3 percent lower.
In September, 60.5 percent of working hours on construction sites were spent on new construction, while 39.5 percent were on reconstructions, repairs, and maintenance.
On buildings, 53.8 percent of working hours were spent, while on other constructions it was 46.2 percent.
Statistics based on original indices show that in the first nine months of this year, the volume of construction work increased by 3.7 percent compared to the first nine months of 2022.
In this period, the volume of work performed on buildings was 7.1 percent higher compared to the period from the beginning of the year to the end of September 2022, while the volume of work on other constructions was 1.6 percent lower.
