Decline in employment in crafts and liberal professions

In crafts and liberal professions in Croatia, at the end of September, there were 214,772 employed, which is 3.4 percent or 7,552 less than at the end of August, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

In crafts, there were 196,947 employed, or 3.7 percent less, while in liberal professions there were 17,825 employed, or 0.7 percent more.

The increase in the number of employed was achieved in eight areas of activity, ranging from 0.1 percent in other service activities to 30.8 percent in mining and quarrying.

The decline in the number of employed is present in ten areas of activity, ranging from 1.1 percent in agriculture, forestry, and fishing to 14.7 percent in accommodation and food service activities.

The number of employed in water supply; wastewater removal, waste management, and environmental remediation activities remained at the level from August 2023.

Observed by counties, the increase in the number of employed was achieved in 12 counties, ranging from 0.2 percent in Bjelovar-Bilogora County to 0.8 percent in Krapina-Zagorje, Sisak-Moslavina, Koprivnica-Križevci, and Brod-Posavina counties.

The decline in the number of employed is present in eight counties, ranging from 0.9 percent in Virovitica-Podravina County to 11.2 percent in Lika-Senj County.

In Požega-Slavonia County, the number of employed remained at the level from August 2023.
