FACC, a technological partner of the global aviation industry with a production facility in Jakovlje, Zagreb County, achieved revenues of €513.9 million in the first nine months of 2023, representing a year-on-year increase of 22.5%, FACC reported on Wednesday.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in the first nine months of this year amounted to €5 million, compared to €4.2 million in the same period last year.
The aviation industry continues its recovery, and high production rates are also reflected in FACC’s long-term order book, which recorded a significant increase in value to $5.8 billion, as highlighted in the statement from the company based in Austria.
The company also noted that, in addition to the segment of short- and medium-haul aircraft, it is beginning to see significant increases in orders for long-haul aircraft (A350 and B787), which should lead to further revenue growth in the next 18 months.
Therefore, FACC plans to hire up to 500 new workers in the coming months, bringing the total to 3,294.
Among other things, FACC highlighted the expansion works at the production facility in Jakovlje. Journalists were able to confirm two weeks ago that these works have already progressed, with the planned completion date set for June next year, and that the production area will triple from the current approximately 5,000 to over 15,000 square meters.
In Jakovlje, FACC produces lightweight components for the interiors of business jets and passenger aircraft, and the expansion works are taking place alongside the existing facility, which began operations in December 2021.
FACC is majority-owned by the Chinese company AVIC (Aviation Industry Corporation of China) and employs more than three thousand people at 15 locations worldwide.
