In a significant step towards fostering economic ties between Croatia and Saudi Arabia, Andrii Matiukha, a Ukrainian investor, held key meetings with representatives of state funds and the Ministry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Discussions focused on the Petrinja Chicken Company, its investment in the Republic of Croatia, and the potential for Saudi investments in the region, marking a historic moment for international cooperation.

In Riyadh, Matiukha, along with his team – Oleksiy Shevchenko (CEO) and Krešimir Steinbauer (CFO) participated in the EU-SAUDI investment forum, the Future Investment Initiative conference (colloquially known as the DAVOS of the East), which gathers influential individuals and organizations (such as the Public Investment Fund & Ministry of Investment KSA, PEPSICO, HSBC, Stanford University…) involved in promoting global ‘positive and green’ investment processes, as well as the SAUDI Agriculture fair – where the foundations of cooperation between the Petrinja Chicken Company (the project holder of the poultry farm in Croatia) and the most significant participants in the Saudi food market were discussed.

Saudi Arabia’s interest in investing in Croatia highlights the growing bilateral relations between the two countries. Croatia’s strategic position in Europe, combined with a successful business environment, has sparked Saudi Arabia’s interest, with potential investments promising significant economic benefits for both countries.

The Petrinja Chicken Company will be a milestone for infrastructure and economic development in both the Sisak-Moslavina County and for national economic growth. This ambitious venture aims to improve connectivity and economic opportunities, strengthening Croatia’s position as a key player in the European poultry market. Through meetings in Riyadh, involving experts and leaders from around the world and representatives of PCC, Croatia has been placed on the map as a country ideal for foreign investments, oriented towards sustainable and green business.

As discussions continue and the PCC project gains momentum, the future promises a flourishing investment landscape in Croatia. The prospects for Saudi investments confirm the sustainability of the project and its impact on the development of Croatia’s economic image.

This partnership involving Croatia and Saudi Arabia promises to stimulate economic growth, improve infrastructure, and create new opportunities for all parties involved. This writes a new chapter in international business cooperation.
