Daytona, a Croatian startup providing a solution for improving the developer environment known as Development Environment Management, has secured two million dollars in investments during its earliest pre-seed funding round. This investment significantly exceeds the initial expectations of Daytona’s team, resulting from the trust of prominent names in the developer tools sector, including leaders of the Croatian tech community who have invested in this new domestic startup.
Daytona’s vision for the developer environment has been recognized by Infinum co-founder Tomislav Car, Microblink co-founders Izet Ždralović and Jurica Cerovec, Devota founder Martin Morava, Nanobit co-founder Alan Sumina, Photomath founder Damir Sabol, and Five founder Luka Abrus.
Stars of the domestic IT industry have joined as angel investors alongside a number of international companies and individuals who supported Daytona at this early stage of investment, including investment funds Silicon Gardens, Tiny.vc, and 500 Emerging Europe.
– I am pleased that we can support Daytona’s vision in creating standardized developer environments. The years of experience of the entire Daytona team in this area, persistence, and motivation uniquely position them to solve the challenges that developers face every day – said Tomislav Car, founder of Infinum Ventures.
The mission is to become the industry standard
Behind Daytona is a team of experienced cloud programming veterans. Ivan Burazin, Vedran Jukić, and Goran Draganić began their journey in 2009 with the PHPanywhere project, which eventually evolved into Codeanywhere. Over 14 years in the field of cloud programming, the founders of Daytona have gained unique insights into user needs and challenges, enabling them to develop a sought-after developer tool that does not yet exist on the market.
– This investment helps us achieve our mission to become the industry standard in managing developer environments, starting with large corporations or the enterprise sector. The strong support from individuals and institutions with deep roots in the developer tools industry is not only a confirmation but also a significant joint step towards transforming developer environments – explains Ivan Burazin, co-founder and CEO of Daytona.
Headquartered in New York, Daytona currently employs 11 people in Europe and the USA, and the funds raised will be used for a new leap in business.
– The funds from this round of financing will be directed towards accelerating development, new hiring at Daytona, and intensifying market penetration, especially among large organizations where their own, independent developer environments are a priority – concludes Burazin.
