Lider is awarding the ‘Hrvoje Mateljić’ award again this year for the best journalistic contributions on the economy published in print or digital media, for the best journalistic works on the economy broadcast in electronic media (radio or TV), and for the best works on the economy by a young journalist under 29 years of age.
Candidates can apply for the competition, which lasts until November 20, 2023, either personally, on the proposal of colleagues, or from the editorial offices they collaborate with. The award is given to one person in each category in the form of a special recognition and a monetary amount of 1,200 euros. The award is decided by a jury composed of prominent journalists and editors of economic sections and experts from the economy.
The award ceremony will be held on December 12, 2023, at the Journalists’ House in Zagreb.
The award was established by Lider in memory of the prematurely deceased colleague, journalist Hrvoje Mateljić. In addition to preserving the memory of Hrvoje, it aims to recognize colleagues who persist in high-quality and analytical journalism. Hrvoje Mateljić (1974 – 2008) was a professional journalist for 12 years before he tragically passed away. He covered the telecommunications sector, mergers and acquisitions, and demonstrated the breadth of his knowledge in macroeconomic topics.
The award is given in 3 categories:
– to a journalist for the best journalistic contributions on the economy published in print or digital media
– to a journalist for the best journalistic works on the economy broadcast in electronic media (radio or TV)
– for the best young journalist, under 29 years, for journalistic works on the economy
The award is given to one person in each category in the form of a special recognition and a monetary amount of 1,200 euros.
