At the end of September, there were blocked accounts of more than 216 thousand citizens in Croatia, with a total principal debt of 2.63 billion euros, as well as 14.2 thousand business entities, whose principal debt amounted to 584.7 million euros, according to data from the Financial Agency (Fina) published on Wednesday.
At the end of September, due to unexecuted payment orders, 216,381 consumers were recorded in the payment order registry, which is 0.4 percent less than in the previous month and 6.8 percent less than a year ago.
The principal of their debt of 2.63 billion euros was nine percent higher than in August of this year and 8.4 percent higher compared to September 2022.
When the principal of 2.63 billion euros is added to the debt from interest amounting to 906.8 million euros, the total debt of citizens with blocked accounts at the end of September amounted to 3.54 billion euros.
The share of consumer debt to banks as creditors in the total debt amounted to 26.2 percent, and to all financial institutions 30.1 percent. As of September 30 of this year, 1,441 consumers had a debt greater than 132,723 euros or one million kuna, and the total debt of these consumers amounted to 1.2 billion euros, according to Fina’s data.
At the end of September this year, 14,225 business entities were recorded in the payment order registry, which is 425 business entities or 3.1 percent more compared to August 2023, and 558 or 3.8 percent less compared to September 2022.
