Here is how the first day of the new academic year went at EFZG

Traditionally, the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb is the most desirable higher education institution for numerous Croatian and foreign high school graduates. This was also the case this year, with 1800 freshmen enrolled at EFZG for the academic year 2023/2024. All members of the dean’s office welcomed the new students, and the welcoming speech was delivered by Dean Sanja Sever-Mališ.

– More than 86 thousand students have graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, and over 800 students have obtained the title of Doctor of Science. Our faculty holds two prestigious global accreditations, ACSB and EQUIS. What does this mean for you students? It means that once you graduate, you will be able to tell everyone that your diploma is valued everywhere in the world! This faculty will become your second home – said Sever-Mališ.

Freshmen were also warmly welcomed by Kosjenka Dumančić, Vice Dean for Strategic Partnerships and Projects, Zoran Wittine, Vice Dean for Business and Infrastructure, Jakša Krišto, Vice Dean for Students and Study Programs, and Zoran Krupka, Vice Dean for Quality and Internationalization.

The Vice Deans emphasized that freshmen can be proud of their success as they have enrolled in one of the most sought-after faculties in Croatia, where renowned lecturers, who are also leading scientists in Croatia and the region in the fields of economics and business economics, teach. Students are invited to take advantage of all the support the faculty provides in their personal and professional development through a range of study programs, international exchanges, and projects.

Students were also welcomed by the head of the library Zrinka Udiljak Bugarinovski, faculty secretary Martina Levačić, head of the student office Robert Fišić, and head of the international cooperation office Suzana Karabaić.
