Industrial production in Croatia fell on a year-on-year basis in August, marking the second consecutive month of decline, with the most significant drop occurring in the production of durable goods for consumer use.
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) announced on Friday that industrial production in August decreased by 2.2 percent compared to the previous month, while it slid by 2.4 percent compared to August of last year.
This marks the second consecutive month of production decline, and it was sharper than in July, when it weakened by 0.7 percent on a year-on-year basis.
In August, production fell year-on-year in all five sectors, with the most significant decline of 11.3 percent in the production of durable goods for consumer use.
Following with a decline of 6.9 percent is the production of capital goods, while the production of non-durable goods for consumer use fell by 3.6 percent, energy by 3 percent, and intermediate goods by 1.8 percent on a year-on-year basis.
In the first eight months of this year, industrial production decreased by 1 percent compared to the same period last year.
