MicroStrategy bought another 5,445 bitcoins, software company in the red by more than 500 million dollars

The world’s largest corporate owner of bitcoins, MicroStrategy, has reinstated its purchasing policy and spent another 150 million dollars to acquire just under 5,500 bitcoins. However, the company’s overall investment is still unprofitable, at least theoretically, as the asset price is around 26,000 dollars.

Michael Saylor, founder and former CEO of MicroStrategy, announced the latest acquisition on X, indicating that his company spent 147.3 million dollars to acquire 5,445 bitcoins at an average price of 27,053 dollars.

This means that the total amount of bitcoins owned by MicroStrategy has grown to 158,245. In total, MicroStrategy has spent 4.68 billion dollars (at an average price of 29,582 dollars per bitcoin).

The price of bitcoin has recently failed to gain a real catalyst, even falling to a multi-week low of 26,000 dollars. Thus, MicroStrategy’s total bitcoin investment is currently estimated at just over 4.1 billion dollars, meaning that the software company is in the red by more than 500 million dollars.
