BalCannes continues to develop in the service of highlighting the creative potentials of the region – applications are open for the highest quality creative projects! The official rules of this major regional creativity competition are now available, which will once again shine in a more competitive light and define the communication industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia, celebrating the best and most original in the region.
Ahead of the presentations where representatives of the competing countries of BalCannes provided an overview of key trends in each member country at the Weekend Media Festival, applications for the new edition of the competition were officially opened in Rovinj, which will once again unite the region in creativity, highlighting the best communication practices.
– BalCannes has become the number 1 project that outlines the creative mosaic of these areas,” said Dunja Ivana Ballon, a member of the Organizing Committee of BalCannes, as well as the director of Communication Days, where BalCannes is held this year.
– We listened to the market and together with some of the best experts from five countries defined BalCannes, which is focused on progress and the future with a new structure of categories and rules, which are the best so far. This project was created for you, so do not hesitate to apply – show everyone what you know – she said.

In Group I. Market Mosaic, which evaluates and rewards projects according to the business categories in which they normally compete in the market: from Food, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Telecommunications Services, Health and Pharmaceuticals to categories such as Corporate Communications, three new categories have been included: Crisis Response, which will gather projects aimed at responding to crisis situations by providing information, support, and guidance to the affected population and other stakeholders; Automotive, which will include new projects focusing on the automotive industry; and IT, a category that will specifically focus on technological innovations. Contestants in this group will have as many as 15 categories available.
NEW GROUP: POSITIVE CHANGE MOSAIC
The last competition season of BalCannes particularly reflected the fact that creatives in the region are focused on social responsibility. Due to the large number of applications submitted, as well as highly rated applications in the Social Responsibility category, the competition is introducing Group II: Positive Change Mosaic, which contains two competitive categories: Green Impact, which will focus on projects that encouraged users to make more environmentally friendly choices and/or increased the popularity of environmentally friendly products and services that include eco-conscious messages; and Community Care, which will celebrate marketing efforts that have been effective in addressing a specific social problem.
