The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported on Tuesday that updated data on prices in retail chains on the ‘Price Movement’ website shows that the amounts of consumer baskets are lower compared to the end of last year by almost ten percent.
According to the statement, the updated data on prices in retail chains on the ‘Price Movement’ website as of September 18 is in accordance with the Government’s decision on direct measures for controlling the prices of certain products in retail, which determines the maximum retail prices for certain products, with December 31, 2022, taken as the relevant date for price comparison.
As of today, following the latest data entry, it is evident that the consumer basket of Konzum plus, with a total of 365 products, is cheaper by 5.35 percent and amounts to 927.60 euros (6,989.04 kuna), the Ministry stated.
The consumer basket of the Tommy retail chain with 365 products amounts to 914.39 euros (6,889.37 kuna) and is cheaper by 8.56 percent, while the consumer basket of KTC with a total of 349 products has decreased by 4.34 percent and now amounts to 920.80 euros (6,937.66 kuna).
After the latest data entry, it is visible that Konzum plus has lowered prices for a total of 148 products, Tommy for 152, and KTC for 84 products, the Ministry noted.
– According to the updated data, it is evident that the amounts of consumer baskets are lower compared to those on December 31, 2022, and we are talking about an overall decrease of almost 10 percent – concludes the Ministry’s statement.
