After 120 Years, the Headquarters of Croatian Post Relocated to Velika Gorica

By the decision of the Commercial Court in Zagreb, the new headquarters of HP – Croatian Post d.d. has been located in Velika Gorica at the National Warehouse-Sorting Center at Postal Street 9 since September 8. With the relocation of the company’s headquarters, an important historical period of the Croatian postal system formally concludes after 120 years.

The Largest Investment in the History of Croatian Post

The construction of the New Sorting Center began with the laying of the foundation stone in May 2017, and it was officially opened in September 2019. On a plot of 70,200 m2, there is a complex of 38,200 m2 that includes a sorting facility, high-bay warehouse, postal and parcel logistics, IT and data center, and business support. In the second phase of construction, completed in 2023, an extension of the administrative building was built, so today 1,700 employees of Croatian Post work in Velika Gorica.

Croatian Post Contributes to the Development of the Economy and E-Commerce

Changes in consumer habits and the growth of online shopping would be unimaginable without modern postal and logistics infrastructure. With an investment worth 50 million euros, the most modern logistics center in this part of Europe has been established, marking the beginning of a new era for Croatian Post, and the relocation of the headquarters is a formal confirmation of a new period for postal and logistics services in Croatia.

The importance of the National Warehouse-Sorting Center is best demonstrated by partnerships with numerous domestic and global players in e-commerce who have recognized the advancement of Croatian Post, especially in parcel business, which is growing at 30% annually. With timely investment, Croatian Post has ensured the prerequisites for a comprehensive transformation into a customer-oriented company and has taken a leading market position in parcel delivery, which is both the present and the future of the postal sector and logistics.

The investment cycle initiated seven years ago is not yet complete, and investments in people, technology, and infrastructure amounting to 200 million euros are transforming Croatian Post into a modern logistics company tailored to the needs of customers and employees. The new corporate strategy looking towards 2030 is focused on further digitalization of its own operations, as well as the entire market, improving material working conditions, and green business practices.
