If the speed at which the ‘yuppie’ trend after-work parties has spread among European businessmen is any indication, it is quite possible that they will soon start participating in a new type of party. In America, more specifically Silicon Valley, men with somewhat deeper pockets have begun attending the so-called T Parties organized by the startup of the same name, T Party.
Innovator and founder of the company Jeff Tang has decided to tackle what he claims is an increasingly common problem of declining testosterone levels. As reported by Business Insider, Tang stated before the launch of his men’s health company that he intends to address the decline in testosterone levels in a natural and measurable way.
Common symptoms of low testosterone levels include decreased energy, muscle mass, and libido, and research shows that a deficiency of this hormone can also affect chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
Ambitious Plans
In a post he published, the entrepreneur noted that he is neither a doctor nor a scientist but ‘just a guy who likes to experiment with health and productivity,’ and that by improving his habits he has managed to positively influence testosterone secretion.
Raising levels of this hormone is not a new concept in the medical or biohacking industry, but it is a new way in which Tang promotes and sells his services. He organizes parties that are mostly sold out, where guests have their blood drawn and, with a little help from the diagnostic company Instalab, undergo tests ranging from simple testosterone level testing to more complex tests of 63 biomarkers. Tickets for the T Party are sold at prices ranging from $100 to $400, covering the costs of the tests.
