The Boris Hanžeković Memorial has been enriched this year by an event that will undoubtedly contribute to the promotion of athletics in Croatia and the dissemination of information necessary for understanding trends in world athletics. As part of the 73rd Boris Hanžeković Memorial, the first BHM Athletic Conference will be held on Saturday, September 9, starting at 12 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, gathering top athletic experts and well-known names from the world of athletics in Zagreb.
The conference program includes two panels and one lecture. The first panel, titled ‘The Advantages of Organizing Major Sporting Events,’ will feature a representative from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, Jose Luis De Carlos from the European Athletics Federation, project manager of the Boris Hanžeković Memorial Natko Bošnjak, president of the Organizing Committee of last year’s World Indoor Championships in Belgrade Slobodan Branković, and a professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb Tomislav Globan.
The moderator will be Robert Šola, editor-in-chief of Sports News.
The goal is to show how major sporting events affect the popularity of sports and audience attraction, as well as to promote sports tourism.
