Industrial production fell in July after two months of growth

Industrial production in Croatia fell in July compared to the same month last year, after two months of growth, with the most significant decline in energy production and consumer goods.

The Croatian Bureau of Statistics announced on Friday that industrial production in July fell by 3.9 percent compared to the previous month, while it slid by 0.7 percent compared to July last year.

After a decline at the beginning of the year, industrial production increased on an annual basis in May and June, but fell again in July.

Production in July fell on an annual basis in three out of five sectors, with the most significant drop of 6 percent in energy production.

Following with a decline of 5.2 percent is the production of durable consumer goods, while the production of non-durable consumer goods slid by 3.8 percent.

On the other hand, the production of capital goods increased by 8.5 percent, and intermediate goods by 0.6 percent on an annual basis.

In the first seven months of this year, industrial production fell by 0.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
