Atlantic Grupa achieved 459.7 million euros in sales revenue in the first six months of 2023.

Atlantic Grupa recorded sales revenue of 459.7 million euros in the first six months of 2023, representing a growth of 15.8 percent compared to the same period last year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) remained at the level of the first half of last year, amounting to 44.4 million euros, while net profit decreased by 5.5 percent to 20.9 million euros.

– In the first half of 2023, Atlantic Grupa achieved strong sales growth across all business and distribution areas and in all major markets. This growth largely compensated for the negative impact of still high raw material and packaging material prices, logistics services, and energy costs. Additionally, a slight decline in profitability was influenced by a significant increase in personnel costs, resulting from wage increases implemented over the past year. We are particularly pleased with the strengthening of distribution foundations through the expansion of the principal network in Slovenia and the opening of a modern LDC in North Macedonia, the growth prospects in the coffee category in the Serbian market, and the results of new product launches – emphasized the CEO of Atlantic Grupa Emil Tedeschi.

Sweet and savory, Beverages and Donat lead in growth

The Strategic Business Area (SPP) Sweet and Savory achieved the highest growth of 32.2 percent, with leading brands Smoki and Najlepše želje, influenced by assortment optimization, increased marketing activities, and successful new product launches. It is followed by SPP Beverages with the leading brand Cedevita and a growth of 20.0 percent, also with the successful launch of new Cedevita vitamin waters, and the Business Area (PP) Donat with a growth of 15.7 percent. Among the distribution areas, Croatia leads with a growth of 19.8 percent, Serbia with a growth of 19.1 percent, and North Macedonia with a growth of 18.0 percent.

In total sales, Atlantic Grupa’s principal brands account for 27.5 percent, the pharmacy chain Farmacia makes up 9.2 percent, while own brands constitute 63.3 percent of sales revenue. Coffee stands out as the largest individual category with a share of 20.4 percent in total sales revenue.

A new logistics distribution center opened in Skopje, the first solar power plant at LDC Zagreb

In the first half of the year, Atlantic Grupa agreed on a collaboration with the Podravka Group that yields excellent results, involving Atlantic’s distribution of Podravka products in the Austrian market, alongside Podravka’s distribution of Atlantic’s assortment in the US market. In Slovenia, significant progress was made in business development through collaboration with the new principal Haleon (Sensodyne, Corega, Parodontax, Aquafresh), while in Skopje, long-term development is ensured by the completion of a 12 million euro investment in the newly opened logistics distribution center.

In May, Atlantic submitted a binding offer to purchase Strauss Adriatica, a company known in the Serbian market for the brands Doncafe and C kafa, with the completion of the transaction subject to prior approval from the Competition Protection Commission in the Republic of Serbia. In the Croatian market, the production of green energy commenced with the construction of the first solar photovoltaic power plant at the central logistics distribution center in Zagreb, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 3,250 tons annually.

Among significant corporate events, it is worth noting the election of the current Supervisory Board member Zoran Vučinić as the president of the Supervisory Board. Additionally, according to the decision of the General Assembly in June, a dividend of one euro per share, totaling 13.3 million euros, was paid to the shareholders of Atlantic Grupa in July.

The CEO of Atlantic Grupa Emil Tedeschi will participate on September 27 at the Lider conference Day of Big Plans, held in the crystal hall of the Westin Zagreb hotel.
