The average monthly net salary paid per employee in legal entities in Croatia amounted to 1,133 euros for May, which is nominally 11% higher and real 2.9% higher year-on-year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
According to the report, the average salary is nominally 1% higher and real 0.5% higher compared to April.
The highest average monthly net salary was paid in the air transport sector, at 1,962 euros, while the lowest was in the clothing manufacturing sector, at 747 euros.
According to DZS data, the median net salary for May was 970 euros, meaning that half of the employees earned less and half earned more than this amount.
The average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities for May was 1,562 euros, which is nominally 1% higher and real 0.5% higher compared to April.
Year-on-year, the average gross salary is nominally 12.7% higher and real 4.4% higher.
In May, there were an average of 183 paid hours, which is 15.1% higher compared to April.
The average net salary per hour for May was 6.09 euros, which is 11.2% lower compared to April, but 6.7% higher compared to May of last year.
From January to May, the average monthly net salary paid was 1,117 euros, which is nominally 11.7% higher and real 1.2% higher compared to the same period last year.
