Croatian Roads have selected the offer from the Chinese company China Road and Bridge Corporation for the construction of the connecting road at the Vučevica interchange on the A1 highway – interchange on state road 8, valued at 74.6 million euros excluding VAT, as the most economically advantageous, the company reported on Tuesday.
The estimated value of the construction of the connecting road at the Vučevica interchange on the A1 – interchange on state road 8, with a length of 6.85 kilometers, was slightly less than 83 million euros excluding VAT.
Five bids were submitted for the tender, including a consortium of Spanish companies Comsa and Nortunel, valued at 119.2 million euros excluding VAT, the Turkish company Yapi Mekezi Insaat ve Sanayi, valued at 113.6 million euros, a consortium of the Austrian Strabag and the Zagreb-based company of the same name, valued at 87.23 million euros excluding VAT, a consortium of Chinese companies Sinohydro Corporation and Sinohydro Biro, valued at 113.4 million euros excluding VAT, and the Chinese China Road and Bridge Corporation. Companies that did not succeed in the tender may appeal the decision of Croatian Roads within 15 days.
Furthermore, the construction of this connecting road is part of the project for the construction of a new access and exit road from the Split Ferry Port and the Project New Entrance to Split – Vučevica interchange on A1 – Kozjak Tunnel – interchange on DC 8 – Split Ferry Port. In mid-April, work began on the first phase of this project, the construction of the sub-section Vučevica interchange – northern portal of the Kozjak Tunnel, valued at nearly 3.5 million euros.
