The physical volume of agricultural gross production in Croatia decreased by 6.7 percent in 2022 compared to 2021, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
The decline in agricultural production, as noted by statisticians, was influenced by a decrease in plant production by 8.6 percent and livestock production by 3.2 percent.
The production of most crops with a larger share in plant production fell – corn by 26.8 percent, soybeans by 14.5 percent, and wheat by 1.6 percent.
Of the products that have a significant share in livestock production, in 2022 compared to 2021, the production of all products decreased except for cattle production, which increased by 10.7 percent, and poultry production, which increased by 0.3 percent, according to DZS data.
In total gross production in 2022, plant production accounted for 63 percent, and livestock for 37 percent.
DZS data also shows that last year, compared to the previous year, the physical volume of agricultural net production decreased by 7.3 percent.
Net indices of the physical volume of agricultural production were calculated from the value of total production reduced by the value of products used for animal feed.
