Housing prices in Croatia increased on average by two percent in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter, while on an annual basis, the price growth accelerated to 14 percent, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
This marks the continuation of the annual growth in housing prices in Croatia, which has been ongoing since the second quarter of 2017.
New residential properties in the first quarter of 2023 became more expensive on average by 0.9 percent compared to the last quarter of the previous year. Compared to the first quarter of 2022, prices of new constructions strengthened by 7.7 percent, according to the DZS report published on Wednesday.
Prices of existing residential properties are up by 2.2 percent on a quarterly basis and 15 percent on an annual basis.
In the first quarter of 2023, housing prices compared to the last quarter of the previous year are on average 0.3 percent lower for the City of Zagreb, 3.6 percent higher for the Adriatic, while for other areas they are higher by 5.5 percent.
On an annual basis, housing prices in Zagreb increased on average by 14.7 percent. In the Adriatic, the growth was 13.2 percent, and in other areas, it was 16.6 percent, according to statistical data.
