New Croatian Bank has successfully merged with Croatian Postal Bank, enabling clients to enjoy even greater efficiency and wider availability and quality of financial services in 69 centers and at 655 ATMs across Croatia.
The integration process lasted for the past year, and on Monday, July 3, 2023, New Croatian Bank was legally merged with HPB, marking the beginning of new joint successes. The bank also received approval from the regulator, the Croatian National Bank, for the completion of the merger process, as stated in their announcement.
– The legal merger of New Croatian Bank with HPB marks an excellent start to our new joint successes. We continue to operate as one strong bank with a unique product offering and under one brand, and we look forward to the upcoming period with optimism. After a record result last year, we believe that the synergy effects will bring numerous benefits to our clients, shareholders, and employees – stated Marko Badurina, CEO of HPB.
The integrated network of centers for citizens and businesses has been defined with the aim of maximizing business potential, so 13 branches of NHB will become HPB Centers and undergo a visual transformation.
The bank’s products and services will be available to clients at all locations where they have been or in close proximity, totaling 69, and as of today, July 3, 2023, all locations will exceptionally start operating at 12:00 PM. A detailed list of centers and their working hours can be found on HPB’s website link.
ATMs will be gradually adapted for use by all clients of the integrated Bank from June 26 to July 7. At the end of the adaptation process, a total of 655 ATMs will be available in the network of Croatian Postal Bank. A list of active ATMs is available on HPB’s website link.
All functionalities of the ATMs that clients of both banks had will remain after the merger. The exception is the cash withdrawal in installments service for former NHB clients, which will only be possible at the ATMs where they could previously use this service, and which will be specially marked to enable this service.
All cards issued to NHB clients remain valid. All HPB clients will be able to withdraw cash without charge using debit cards at NHB ATMs, just as NHB clients will not incur fees for cash withdrawals at HPB ATMs.
For NHB clients, there will be no changes in using direct channels, and they will continue to use the existing applications that will adopt HPB’s visual identity. From June 20 to July 31, a national promotional campaign will inform clients and the public about the advantages and positive changes they can expect from the merger of NHB with HPB.
NHB clients will now have significantly greater access to banking services throughout Croatia, as they will have the widest network of branches and a significantly larger number of ATMs at their disposal, and all clients will benefit from the implemented improvements gained from knowledge and experience, as well as technologies, the bank’s announcement states.
