Opened Luxury Resort Petram in Savudrija

Last night, the unique residential and tourist resort Petram was ceremoniously opened in Savudrija. The central part of the luxury complex consists of an aparthotel, which boasts a 105-meter-long rooftop pool, said to be the longest rooftop pool in Europe and the second longest in the world. The view from the pool is magnificent, stretching across the entire width of the Adriatic’s end and encompassing the territories of three countries (Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy), all the way to Venice and further to the Alps.

From the other pool in the resort, which is on the ground, the view is of the pure luxury of the aparthotel with 179 apartments for sale and rent, 55 villas, and three buildings with 18 apartments. The first guests will be able to vacation there starting Monday. The rental price for apartments starts at 500 euros per day, while the price for villas for sale is five thousand euros per square meter. About 60 percent of the villas and apartments intended for sale have already been sold. For the trees, flowers, and other greenery in the resort, one would think they have been carefully cultivated here for at least ten years, but in fact, everything was only recently brought from Tuscany, including the 105-year-old olive tree planted in front of the hotel.

Several hundred guests gathered for the grand opening. Just as no expense was spared in furnishing with products from renowned and selected Italian, Swedish, and other brands, no expense was spared for the entertainment of last night’s guests, for which Nina Badrić and Željko Joksimović were engaged.

On behalf of the investors, Serbian companies MK Group and Aleksandar Group, Mihailo Janković, the general director of MK Group, addressed the guests.

– We entered this project believing in the potential of Savudrija, and Petram has become a symbol of a new, cosmopolitan Istria for us. We believe that our investment has contributed to the further development of this destination – said Janković.

The construction of the resort, which spans almost 85,000 square meters, took only two years and cost the investors nearly 110 million euros, about thirty million more than was planned (before inflation). This is the second major investment by MK Group in the Savudrija area, where the Kempinski Adriatic hotel, owned by the company, already operates successfully. Not far from Savudrija, in the Slovenian Portorož, MK Group owns the Kempinski Palace hotel and is also the owner of a small airport in that location.

The main contractor for the construction work on Petram was the Zagreb-based Kamgrad, and about a hundred other construction companies participated in the project. On some days towards the end of the work, there were up to 600 workers of all possible profiles on the construction site. Therefore, the completion of the Petram project is excellent news not only for its investors but also for all those who are building something in Croatia and cannot find available contractors. The large construction workforce, which was engaged on Petram for two years, is now free again for other projects.
