Vinkovački Dilj, a member of NEXE Group, has completed the EU project ‘Increasing Energy Efficiency at the Slavonka Plant’, which was implemented at this factory over the past year, according to a company statement. The total value of this project amounted to 1.8 million euros (13.3 million kuna), of which 960 thousand euros (7.2 million kuna) was co-financed from the Call under the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014 – 2020, European Regional Development Fund.
A photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 1.1 megawatts was built on the roof of the production hall, with an expected annual electricity production for its own needs of 1.6 million kilowatt-hours, which has been confirmed in the past year when the plant was in trial operation. Part of the project also included the installation of a frequency converter and motor, as well as energy consumption monitoring devices, and it encompassed the replacement of the clay pre-cleaner with a more energy-efficient device, converting diesel forklifts to electric ones, as well as other minor activities aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of the Slavonka plant. As a result of all the above, the key effects of this project are a reduction, i.e., savings of electricity of 2.2 million kilowatt-hours and a reduction of CO2 emissions by 703.69 tons annually.
