Končar – Engineering Secures Two Strategic Projects in Sweden

The company Končar – Engineering (KET) has signed two new contracts with Svenska Kraftnät (SVK), the Swedish transmission system operator, bringing the total contracted business for KET in the Swedish market to over 20 million euros, Končar reported on Monday.

As explained in the statement, KET will be engaged in the projects for the expansion of the 220 kilovolt (kV) transformer station Linnvasselv and the reconstruction of primary equipment, as well as protection and control systems at seven 220 kV transformer stations near Stockholm.

The scope of work includes engineering services on a ‘turnkey’ basis, which encompass project management, design, delivery and installation of primary equipment, control and protection systems, functional testing of the entire facility, and commissioning.

Member of the Management Board of Končar – Engineering Ivan Tomšić reminds that, after a long pre-qualification process with Swedish customers and very intensive sales activities, KET last year, for the first time in its history, secured two ‘turnkey’ contracts for Svenska Kraftnät (SVK), the Swedish transmission system operator, and for Vattenfall Eldistribution, the distribution system operator.

He explains that these are complex projects for the revitalization of the high-voltage transformer station Finnslätten, specifically the replacement of protection and control systems at four 400 kV and 220 kV transformer stations, which are at a high level of realization.

– This week’s signing of two new contracts for SVK is the result of systematic activities by KET’s sales team, as well as the team involved in the realization of the aforementioned contracts – emphasized Tomšić.

Končar also notes that, due to very strong competition and market demands for high quality of delivered products and services, the Swedish market is recognized as one of the most demanding in Europe and is of exceptional strategic importance for Končar.

The CEO of Končar Gordan Kolak emphasizes that expanding business in the Swedish market is of strategic importance for Končar, and thus for the Croatian industry.
