The permanent rehabilitation works of the Ivana D well have been successfully completed. The rehabilitation was carried out in accordance with the legal and sub-legal acts of the Republic of Croatia, best industrial practices, and the well itself has been brought to a permanently safe state for people and the environment, INA announced.

The works took place below the sea surface with the assistance of divers and supervision of a robotic diver. After placing three cement plugs in the well with a total thickness of 450 m, the protective casing of the well was cut at a depth of about two meters below the seabed, and a protective steel cap was placed on it. The works included replacing damaged parts at the wellhead, checking the integrity of the wellbore, cutting the damaged casing column, installing a new wellhead, and permanently isolating the production reservoir and wellbore by placing cement barriers in accordance with regulations.

An experienced international diving company, CNS, was engaged for the rehabilitation, which carried out the works using the vessel GSP Falcon. The multifunctional vessel spent 47 days on site, while the total duration of activities was 59 days. The diving crew consisted of 33 members, of which 12 were permanent saturation divers, while the rest were supervisors and support staff. The total crew consisted of 115 people, and several domestic companies were also involved in the entire project.
