HT Reacquires Technology Unit for Network Construction and Maintenance from Ericsson Nikola Tesla

The technology unit for the construction and maintenance of the HT network, Ericsson Nikola Tesla Services, which has been separated into the mentioned company since September 2014 and has been performing tasks for Hrvatski Telekom in the domain of providing construction and maintenance services for electronic communication infrastructure, has been decided to be reacquired by Hrvatski Telekom.

The acquisition of the technology unit, which encompasses planning and construction of fixed and mobile networks, maintenance of electronic communication infrastructure, monitoring of the telecommunications network, field maintenance of the active access network and passive network, is part of Hrvatski Telekom’s development strategy.

– By consolidating all strategic segments of business within the company, Hrvatski Telekom continues to transform its operational model, improving business flexibility in line with industry trends, and creating conditions for further development of fixed and mobile networks. The new operational model will enable further optimization of our business, providing our customers with even faster and higher quality service.

Collaboration with ENTS over the past years has been exceptionally successful in several areas, including the largest introduction of fiber optics in Croatia, modernization of the mobile network, introduction of 5G services, and has resulted in the highest level of customer satisfaction in HT’s history. We continue our collaboration with Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d., which we consider one of the most reliable and professional partners in the telecommunications industry, in numerous other segments – stated Kostas Nebis, CEO of Hrvatski Telekom.

– The reacquisition of planning, construction, and management activities from ENTS will enable further enhancement of our internal capabilities aimed at strengthening the quality of our network and further improving services for our customers. We welcome the ENTS employees engaged in the construction and maintenance of our network to the HT Group and are confident that together we will continue to develop and build the leading network in Croatia – added Boris Drilo, Member of the Management Board and Chief Technical and Information Technology Officer of Hrvatski Telekom.

– I thank the employees of Ericsson Nikola Tesla Services who work on tasks for HT, as well as colleagues from the parent company engaged in providing support in fulfilling obligations to our customer, for their effort and dedication in the area of construction and maintenance of the HT network. At all times, especially during the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic and the devastating earthquakes that struck the Republic of Croatia in 2020, we demonstrated dedication, excellence, and competence in our deliveries. Also, even in economically challenging times of rising energy prices, materials, and services, as well as inflation and disruptions in supply chains, we stand out as a reliable partner to our strategic customer – stated Gordana Kovačević, President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Ericsson Nikola Tesla Services.

In line with their leadership position in the ICT market and significant innovation potential, as well as a high level of expertise and experience in developing modern ICT solutions, products, and services, Kovačević added, the company’s focus remains strongly directed towards the digital transformation of industries and society, concentrating on more profitable and strategic areas of their core business and investing in a sustainable future.

– We have successfully and satisfactorily fulfilled our contractual obligations to HT. We have shown that we can professionally handle all challenges even in the most difficult business conditions. Our competence and professionalism were also demonstrated in what we believe is a quality offer we submitted for the new contract. I thank the dedicated work of the experts from Ericsson Nikola Tesla Services and subcontractors involved in fulfilling contractual obligations and services for HT.

Special thanks to the management and experts from Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. for their excellent support all these years, especially during the most demanding period from 2019 to 2023, without which the quality of services we provided to HT would not have been possible. The company Ericsson Nikola Tesla Services d.o.o. will professionally execute all activities from the currently valid contract for HT by the end of 2023, while maintaining the highest quality of service. Additionally, in collaboration with the parent company Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d., we will continue to fulfill contractual obligations for other customers during this year and in the upcoming period – emphasized Dario Runje, Director of Ericsson Nikola Tesla Services.

The transfer of the technology unit, along with employees, is scheduled for January 1, 2024.
