At the last Seasplash festival, old acquaintances Zion Train will come with a new studio album, after a long time in full formation, accompanied by a series of performances by artists making their debut at the festival. As in the last two decades, this year one of the heralds of summer on the Adriatic is also the unveiling of the Seasplash festival artists.

From July 20 to 23 in Martinska, Šibenik, numerous world, regional, and domestic artists will alternate on the festival stages. Some are already old acquaintances, while many will present themselves to the festival audience for the first time. All these musicians have contributed to establishing the independent scene of Caribbean musical heritage, just like Seasplash. The mutual recognition and mutual respect and love between Seasplash and all the artists is long-lasting and unbreakable.

The premiere performance of Zion Train at the first edition of the Seasplash festival in 2003 was probably also the first time that the local audience could witness a legendary performance, characterized by vocal parts and a brass section, performed through a ‘live dub mix’. This was also the beginning of a long-standing friendship and collaboration. To complete the circle of the Seasplash festival, they will perform at the last edition 21 years later. We are particularly pleased that we conclude this great chapter with the actors who have been with us from the very beginning.

These pioneers of the UK dub & sound system scene are also marked by continuity in their work; after a series of releases and performances, this band is on a world tour that never ends. Thus, they do not come to Šibenik resting on old laurels but are presenting a new album ‘Dissident Sound’ which will be released on June 20. Today they perform in a refreshed lineup, and we are especially glad that they return to the MainSplash stage in full formation, after a full ten years in this area.

Among the performers that the Seasplash audience has already had the opportunity to see, we count our artists, DJs and Sound Systems who have earned their performance this year through constant production of new sounds and materials. This is the unstoppable BarabaDub Sound System as well as already known DJs of united forces who will now perform in a joint back-to-back set – Tricky D and Jin-San. This year, Jan Becele, an old acquaintance of all dance floor fans, returns, as well as the world-renowned turntablist and club DJ DJ Venom in Šljivik. Slavonija Vibes Syndicate brings its dub and reggae sounds from the plains of the eastern part of the country. From Sutivanac, a village in inner Istria, comes the lover of handmade sound systems Vibration Addict to play his set. And the almost forgotten craft of turntablism will be presented by Groove Playaz. There is also DUBMX, a master of dub and a BMX stunt specialist.

– We are proud that at the 21st Seasplash we have the opportunity to host numerous names and artistic projects that will present their activities on the stages of our festival for the first time. From distant Kenya comes Fyah Son Bantu, an artist who has been active in his country since the early 2000s and will present his dancehall and reggae repertoire in Martinska. Dr. Obi meets Anja G, Roo T, and Sistah Tena, for the first time in this composition, a unique quartet represents a unique women power phenomenon on the domestic dub and reggae scene. From Sisak comes the band Šarena pojava to present their unique blend of guitars and hip-hop. The active Slovenian DJ Lionshine is also coming to the 21st Seasplash. Their rare, analog, handmade sound system is presented by Old Lady Sound System, which operates in Ludbreg. An old acquaintance, with a completely new artistic project Kalibal, will present his world-music selection. After years of active participation in the scene through the media of Ras Padsystem, he launched a career as a selector and gathered his own collective. Karlovac’s Kordoom HiFi enriches Dub Affair sessions with their sound, and now they will guest at the last edition of Seasplash, as well as the young drum’n’bass DJ from Lovran, Boogie, the organization announced.
