Lider’s journalist Donatella Pauković is the Croatian finalist of this year’s Siemens Media Award

Lider’s journalist Donatella Pauković is the Croatian finalist of the Siemens Media Award 2023 competition, which this year focused on ‘technology with purpose’. Among the 16 submitted works, the committee rated the article ‘White hackers against black: offering hope – if not salvation’ published in Lider magazine as the best. The author of the best work from the seven participating countries, that is, the international winner of the competition will be announced on June 15 when a reception for the finalists will be held in Vienna along with the official announcement of the winner.

– I am immensely grateful to the Siemens expert committee. This recognition comes after two years of my dedicated work at Lider, and I am glad that my efforts have been recognized. However, this success would not have been possible without the tremendous support and mentorship of my colleagues at Lider, as well as my family, partner, and friends. Therefore, I must also say thank you to them for believing in me all the time. I am just at the beginning of my career and I am aware that there are many years of learning, effort, and work ahead of me, and this award means that I am on the right path and gives me a huge boost to continue, so that I can write and create media content with even greater passion – stated Donatella Pauković, the winner of the Siemens Media Award in Croatia.

The Croatian finalist was determined by the evaluation of the committee consisting of Vladimir Nišević (editor-in-chief, Poslovni dnevnik), Miodrag Šajatović (editor-in-chief, Lider), and Polona Wallas (head of corporate communications, Siemens d.d.), who also participate in selecting the final winning work from all seven participating countries. In addition to Croatia, the Siemens Media Award 2023 competition includes Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Serbia. The official announcement of the final winner will take place on June 15, 2023, in Vienna, and all finalists will have the opportunity to see where, among other things, technology with purpose is being developed and implemented.

Siemens has been rewarding authors of quality content about the importance of technology in everyday life for many years, and this year’s competition, in addition to journalists, has included other content creators. In this way, it aims to promote excellent content on the topic of technology and sustainable future, promote their authors, and place technological excellence and innovation high on the social agenda.
