Following last year’s pilot projects for the introduction of private 5G networks at AD Plastik and Ericsson Nikola Tesla, OIV Digital Signals and Networks has recently launched its PrivateNET 5G network at the premises of Klimaoprema in Nova Gradiška for testing a private 5G network that does not utilize resources from the public mobile communication network.
This is an independent network that is not an upgrade to the existing 4G network, as is the case with public 5G networks, and it will provide additional experience in the field of future networks and modern communication. OIV’s private network will completely cover the area within the factory with high-speed, reliable 5G signal and low latency, enabling users to develop business intelligence and open up a range of new opportunities created by 5G technology.
The 5G network has a greater capacity than previous generations of networks and can support more devices simultaneously, which will further enable Klimaoprema to connect a large number of sensors, devices, and machines within production facilities, thus creating a smart factory.
