Casting director Kimberly Graham, who worked on the film Avatar, will hold a Master Casting workshop in Zagreb aimed at professional actors and will be a guest at Duart’s Networking Event on June 11. Graham is coming thanks to actress and producer Ines Wurth, a Croatian from Los Angeles, and Sanja Drakulić, the founder of the Duart platform dedicated to casting actors. The arrival of a Hollywood casting director, according to Drakulić, not only opens up the opportunity for Croatian actors to be seen and land roles in American productions but also the possibility of elevating that industry to a new level. Kimberly Graham is a member of the Casting Society of America, has won an EMMY and Artios Awards, and is known for casting the TV series ‘Homeland’, the aforementioned ‘Avatar’, and the film ‘Before Midnight’.
Croatia has managed to secure a very good position in the film industry over the years, Drakulić emphasizes, but work is still being done to break through for Croatian actors and professionals abroad. Although major roles were previously reserved only for foreign actors, she added, proof that such things have changed is the lead role of Goran Bogdan in the Netflix film ‘Faraway’, which was entirely filmed in Croatia, and for which Drakulić did the casting.
– Ines Wurth has experience working in America both as a producer and an actress. We have watched the famous interviews ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ multiple times, where well-known personalities discussed their experiences and gave valuable advice to young people. In that spirit, we envisioned this conversation with Kimberly Graham, which will be moderated by Ines Wurth.
