Hrvatski Telekom and Liburana, owned by Professio Energia, have signed a virtual corporate Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) for the supply of electricity from renewable sources. The electricity from renewable sources in the amount of 50 GWh per year will be produced by a wind farm that will be built at the Mazin Gračac location, they stated in a press release.
Hrvatski Telekom will thus support the production and delivery of electricity from renewable sources from the local market over the ten-year duration of the vPPA.
– A fixed long-term price and regular delivery of energy that will cover a significant part of our annual electricity needs from renewable sources guarantee long-term financial price stability for Hrvatski Telekom. The conclusion of the vPPA is also an important milestone in our energy strategy and a confirmation of our commitment to responsible and proactive management of Hrvatski Telekom on the path to a sustainable future, as well as a significant step for Croatia’s green energy transition – said Kostas Nebis, CEO of Hrvatski Telekom.
– We believe that by signing the first corporate virtual power purchase agreement, we have opened a new business model in Croatia and the region. This business model will certainly help companies in long-term energy cost management as well as in achieving key ESG indicators. This is yet another step towards achieving the strategic goals of Professio Energia and our shareholders, ensuring the continuation of the development and construction of renewable energy projects in Croatia and the region – said Mario Klarić, CEO of Professio Energia.
