The new management of Kutina’s Petrokemija announced on Friday that negotiations with unions will begin on June 1, following recent discontent over the lack of dialogue with the new majority owner.
The management emphasizes that their first priority after the takeover on May 2 is to prepare the factory for the start of production after more than a year of stagnation. They stated that they will ‘direct all efforts and plans to make this possible’.
They highlight that they have gladly accepted the invitation from the EKN Union to enter negotiations for a new Collective Agreement and to agree on worker standards and working conditions.
They add that they accepted the invitation, demonstrating good intentions and openness towards the workers’ council and unions, which they informed so that negotiations could start on June 1.

The management also conveyed that the new owner from the Yildirim Group is pleased to have taken over 54.2 percent ownership after a very long time spent in the process of selling Petrokemija.
Union representatives at Kutina’s Petrokemija requested a meeting with the management on Thursday at a workers’ gathering to establish cooperation among social partners in the interest of the new owners and workers.
