This Year’s Muzza Science Week Will Be Focused on a Smart Future

The second MUZZA Science Week, to the great delight of children and young people, as well as adults, will take us into the world of science from May 19 to 21, 2023, at Pavilion 10a of the Zagreb Fair from 10 AM to 7 PM, and this year’s edition is titled Smart Future. As many as 40 partners will present the latest achievements in science, the future from the STEM fields, as well as from the humanities, natural, and social topics. Over three days, nine panels on the topic of Smart Future will also be held.

Entry to the MUZZA Science Week is free for all visitors, according to the announcement. The Science Week is a new experience for children, youth, and students, bringing together the academic and technological community as well as entrepreneurs, and through interactive learning and networking, it facilitates meetings with scientists.

We believe it is very important in today’s society to promote real values and emphasize education and science as pillars of an advanced society. We invite children, young people, their teachers, and parents to visit us and enjoy the fun aspects of science – said Đurđica Protić, president of the MUZZA association.

This year’s MUZZA Science Week covers all relevant topics and categorizes the program into 14 areas: A Look into Space, Humania – the Science of Man, Superorganism, The Future of Robots, The Future of Transport, Young Scientists, Sensational Science, Muzza LAB, E-LAB, Ecology and Climate, Film and Media Literacy, Play for Health, Plant and Animal World, and Interactive Workshops.

This event has an educational and tourist character aimed at promoting science and bringing it closer to children and young people, which is important not only for the citizens of Zagreb but also for guests who visit our city precisely for such events – said Martina Bienenfeld, director of the Zagreb Tourist Board.

This year, the MUZZA Science Week offers visitors nine panels where competent participants will discuss the impact that technology has on the present and future of the global community. Based on previous developments, many processes can be predicted, so it will be interesting to hear how scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, and educators envision the future. Participants will include academician Bojan Jerbić – dipl. ing from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, president of the Zagreb Architects’ Society Tihomil Matković, dean of the Technical College prof. dr. sc. Jana Žiljak Gršić, dean of the Faculty of Transport Sciences assoc. prof. dr. sc. Marko Šoštarić, Mislav Malenica, president of the CroAI association and CEO of Mindsmiths, CEO of Končar d.d. Gordan Kolak, Hrvoje Balen, CEO of Algebra and president of HUP ICT, Vjekoslav Majetić, innovator and CEO of DOK-ING, assoc. prof. dr. sc. Ana Sović Kržić from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, dr. sc. Lovro Palaversa and dr. sc. Vibor Jelić from the Ruđer Bošković Institute, among many others.

Last year, the MUZZA Science Week was visited by more than 9,000 children and young people. With a new location and a significant increase in interesting content and programs, this event for youth and children titled ‘Smart Future’ is not to be missed.
