Applications for the new generation of the A1 Start professional development program have begun

Young STEM talents who wish for a structured introduction to their first job in the field have the opportunity to become part of the next internship generation of the A1 Start paid professional development program. As part of A1 Start, talents receive an education plan and a development plan tailored to their needs, which includes future skills, support from an experienced mentor, access to the latest digital technologies, all while working on interesting STEM projects.

A1 Start is intended for graduates, diploma holders, and those who have completed their studies in the last 12 months, primarily in STEM fields, who are seeking their first permanent employment in an organization that supports them in reaching their full potential and prepares them for further career development. A1 Hrvatska is looking for as many as 15 young talents, A1 Start participants, to strengthen the Data Science & Analytics, IT Systems & Software, Cyber Security, IP Technologies, and Digital Marketing teams, with applications open until May 31. Given that this is a permanent employment opportunity, participants in the A1 Start program will have benefits equal to those of other company employees, and during their first year in the company, they can expect support from experienced mentors and teams, an education plan tailored to their needs, and clearly defined goals and a development plan that prepares them for a continued career at A1.

– I believe that SQL and Python are the most important technical skills for this position, which I use as primary tools in my daily work. The university provided me with a good foundation for them, but the job gives me the opportunity for concrete application and development of the same – stated Eva Belcar, A1 Start intern and Junior CRVM Data Scientist.

Interns are expected to have a passion for the STEM field and a desire for growth and advancement through continuous development of their knowledge and skills, as well as openness to working in teams. A1 Hrvatska positions itself as a digital company in the areas of future skills, including cyber security, data science, and machine learning, as well as gaming, which is particularly interesting to the student community. For the first time at A1 Hrvatska, in collaboration with the most prominent technical faculties in Croatia, we have established the ‘A1 Student eChallenge’ esports league, which brings STEM students a unique gaming experience, as well as the opportunity to participate in the organization and administration of this exciting esports competition.

The call for A1 Start is open until May 31, by which date all interested parties should send their resumes and apply for their desired area. After that, a selection process will follow, and interns will start working on October 2.
