The research company specialized in air transport, Skytrax, has published the list of the best airports in the world, and for the 12th time, Singapore’s Changi Airport has taken the top spot. From 2013 to 2020, this airport held firmly to the first place, and then was briefly replaced by Hamad International Airport in Doha and Tokyo’s Haneda.
Changi boasts a capacity of 85 million passengers, the fact that 90 airlines land there, and that it connects 140 world cities, and its lifestyle section has won 25 awards since its opening in 2019. Global travelers participating in Skytrax’s survey have declared Changi the best in the category of best airport in Asia, best airport in the world in the dining and leisure amenities categories.
Untouchable Changi
Respondents took into account various factors when evaluating, from shopping options, check-in, arrivals, transfers, security, etc. Doha Hamad International Airport is in second place, followed by Haneda Airport in Tokyo and South Korea’s Incheon International Airport.
The list of the top ten best airports also includes Paris (fifth place) and the main airports in Istanbul (sixth place), Munich (seventh place), and Zurich (eighth place). Another Japanese airport, Narita International Airport, is in ninth place, while the tenth is Spain’s Madrid-Barajas.
