In the first HAKOM study of mobile network quality, HT achieved the best result

Hrvatski Telekom (HT) achieved the best result according to the first independent measurement of mobile network quality conducted by HAKOM in collaboration with the German company Net Check GmbH, followed by the mobile networks A1 Hrvatska and Telemach Hrvatska, HAKOM announced on Wednesday.

The overall score for HT in this measurement conducted in January and February 2023 was 942 points, while A1 scored 928 and Telemach 884 points.

Highlighting that this was done for the first time, HAKOM (Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Activities) states that the study covered 29 cities and 3,900 kilometers of roads and highways in Croatia, an area inhabited by approximately two million residents or more than 50 percent of the total population in Croatia.

Measurements were conducted using a so-called drive test system with measuring equipment on the roof of the vehicle, collecting data on the performance of voice and data services.

In the measurement of mobile network quality in Croatia, they report that around 2,500 samples for voice and more than 24,000 samples for data services were collected per operator, and the analysis was conducted according to the methodology of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

– This approach allows for the measurement of performance for all three operators in public mobile electronic communication networks simultaneously at the same locations. The results showed that mobile communication networks in Croatia are of high quality and keep pace with technological development – say HAKOM.

They also explain that the measurements showed that the performance of Croatian mobile networks remains very high and that operators continue to invest in development and enhance transmission capacities and quality while simultaneously investing in new technologies.

Such measurements will also be conducted in the future and publicly published, with the aim of presenting the real experience of service users, and HAKOM believes that this will also help operators improve their services, especially in areas where their results were weaker than expected or desired.

They state that details from the study can be found on HAKOM’s website.
