‘Challenges of Project Management – Knowledge and Skills Required for Successful Project Managers: Learn How to Successfully Manage Projects

Organized by EU PROJECTS Educational Institution – Adult Education Institution and AVELANT on Friday, April 14, 2023, starting at 11:00 AM, a conference titled ‘Challenges of Project Management – Knowledge and Skills Required for Successful Project Managers’ will be held at WESPA Spaces.

The aim of the conference is to discuss the key challenges faced by project managers from all sectors and the knowledge and skills necessary for successful project management, with the goal of achieving a competitive advantage for the organizations in which they operate. New educational programs in the field of project management, which will be presented at the conference by the EU PROJECTS Educational Institution, will enable all sectors to acquire the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary for successful project management.

According to the latest data from the European Commission, Croatia, with a disbursement rate of 81 percent, ranks 13th in the utilization rate of EU funds for the financial perspective 2014 – 2020. The deadline for using the funds expires at the end of this year, while Croatia is simultaneously utilizing resources from the EU Solidarity Fund, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as the new Multiannual Financial Framework. Complex procedures and requirements in the preparation and management of projects, which no longer relate exclusively to EU procedures, complicate project implementation and raise serious concerns about success in the period leading up to 2030.

One solution to the problem of project implementation, and thus the utilization of all available funding sources, is to strengthen the capacities of all stakeholders in the project management segment. The foundation for this is quality educational programs through which it is possible to raise the level of project competencies.

The conference will host experts and representatives of leading professional organizations in the field of project management, who will discuss the key challenges faced by project managers today. These include: Doc. Dr. Ernest Vlačić, President of the Thematic Innovation Council for Energy and Sustainable Environment, Prof. Dr. Mladen Vukomanović, President of the Croatian Project Management Association (IPMA Croatia), Sanja Georgina Stropnik, PMP, President of PMI Croatia, Marko Šimac, B.Sc. Civil Eng., Regional Coordinator of PM2 Alliance.

In addition to the aforementioned guests, the discussion will also be contributed by representatives of the hosts of this conference Ariana Vela, MBA, Director of AVELANT d.o.o., Vitomir Vela, M.A. in International Relations, Director of the EU PROJECTS Educational Institution, and Dr. Zlatko Barilović, Director for the Development of Educational Programs at the EU PROJECTS Educational Institution.
