The company MS Energy, part of the M San group, presented a new production facility for electric bicycles in Rugvica on Tuesday, where they plan to produce 20 thousand bicycles annually.
MS Energy assembles three categories of bicycles in the new production facility – city, mountain, and trekking bicycles. A total of 13 different bicycle models are produced – seven models of city bicycles, three mountain bicycles, two trekking bicycles, and one folding bicycle.
– With 22 to 24 workers per shift, about 130 to 140 bicycles are assembled in one shift, and the production is linear to ensure the best quality – said production manager Mislav Belavić. He added that currently, MS Energy has eight permanent employees, along with external collaborators.
– Last year we produced about 10 thousand bicycles, and we plan to double production – said Belavić.
He added that they are also preparing new bicycle models for the season, and about a thousand folding bicycles still need to be completed. MS Energy actually assembles bicycles in the Rugvica facility, for which parts come from various suppliers, primarily from China.
The parts arrive packaged and are assembled in the facility through a series of processes, from assembling the frame and tires to packaging the finished bicycle, explained Belavić, emphasizing that the complete design of the bicycle is done at M San Group.
According to product manager Boris Kozić, each of their bicycles is tested in the laboratory and meets all European standards and certifications, which is why the European Union is a favorable market for the company. The market that MS Energy focuses on is Central and Western Europe, said Kozić.
According to the presented data, MS Energy sold 1,700 electric bicycles in Croatia in one year. The average price of MS Energy electric bicycles ranges from 1,200 to 2,400 euros, and the best-selling are, they say, folding bicycles.
