Revenue from foreign tourists in 2022 reached 13.1 billion euros, surpassing 2019.

Revenue from foreign tourists in 2022 amounted to 13.1 billion euros, which is 44 percent higher than in 2021 and 24 percent higher than in 2019, reported the Ministry of Tourism and Sports on Friday, citing data from the Croatian National Bank (HNB).

Compared to 2021, revenue from foreign tourists in 2022 increased by 3.9 billion euros, and compared to the previously record-setting 2019, it is 2.5 billion euros higher, the Ministry added.

– Croatia achieved record results in revenue from foreign tourists in 2022, amounting to 13.1 billion euros, and if we add the estimated revenue from domestic tourists, we arrive at a total of around 15 billion euros. These results confirm our focus on quality and added value – stated the Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac.

In addition to the annual level, the Minister emphasizes significant revenue growth in 2022 during periods outside the summer season, when an average growth of 19 percent was achieved compared to the same period in the record year of 2019.

The Ministry also presents data from the HNB for the fourth quarter of 2022, in which revenue from foreign tourists amounted to 1.4 billion euros, or 44 percent more than in the same period of 2021, and 33 percent higher compared to the same time in 2019.

They remind that in the first quarter of 2022, revenue from foreign tourists amounted to 495 million euros, or 105 percent more than in the same period of 2021, and two percent higher than in the same period of 2019.

Revenue also grew in the second quarter of 2022, reaching 2.6 billion euros, while in the third quarter of 2022, it increased to 8.4 billion euros, which is a 27 percent increase compared to the same period in 2021 and 28 percent compared to 2019.
