As of today, applications for Green Prix 2023 are open, which is awarded for the third consecutive year as part of the Greencajt festival. In a very short time, Green Prix has become the most prestigious award in Croatia that promotes sustainability as the most important determinant in the operation of every organization or individual.
Thus, until April 27, all those who have successfully implemented green and sustainable projects in the past and this year can apply for Green Prix 2023, highlighting the importance of climate goals and green transition through their continuous engagement and contributing to environmental protection. The award ceremony is scheduled for May 25, the last day of the Greencajt festival, which will take place on May 24 and 25 at the old Electric Bulb Factory and Rougemarin Park in Zagreb.
For the title of Green Leader of the Year, decided by the public through votes on the festival’s official website, ten candidates compete, serving as positive examples and motivating others to adopt sustainable values.
This year’s candidates are:
David Pejić, a young entrepreneur who was named the best organic farmer in Europe. David exchanged the streets of New York for about twenty hectares of land in Habjanovac, where the Zrno eco-farm is located.
Hrvoje Jurić, a cyclist, adventurer, and photographer who travels around the world by bicycle accompanied by his best friends, dogs Eno and Max, highlighting the consequences of climate change.
Darija Walter, an activist and president of the PLANTaža Association from Osijek, who is changing the local community through numerous green projects and actively promotes green solutions.
Marina Matijević, the initiator of the website I am a Better Citizen and an eco-activist, provides useful tips on waste separation.
Zvonimir Kalić, a young farmer who, with his family in Slavonian Vrpolje, grows hemp, and thanks to his family farm, has employed numerous Slavonians and thus initiated rural development in his area while respecting the principles of sustainable development.
Antun Ponoš, an editor and host of the show ‘Pets’ which has celebrated a successful 33 years, and has saved over 100,000 animals.
Matija Žulj is the founder and director of the agro-tech company AGRIVI, which is a leader in the digitalization of agricultural production and has been named one of the ambassadors of the European Innovation Council.
Silvija Kolar – Fodor is an author, bio-gardener, and activist, who launched the website Biovrt where she shares her knowledge about growing healthy food.
