‘Discover Vienna: Manufacturing Edition’ – an opportunity for companies from Croatia to develop their business

Following the success of the first editions of the ‘Discover Vienna: Manufacturing Edition’ program in November 2021 and May 2022, the Vienna Business Agency and EIT Manufacturing, the innovation community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), are once again inviting scaleup companies from Croatia to apply for participation this year.

Thus, 15 companies from Europe offering solutions for the manufacturing sector will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive program in the Austrian capital from May 30 to June 2 this year. The four-day program will take place as part of the large startup conference ViennaUP’23, which will gather numerous Austrian and international startups, investors, companies, and new talents from May 30 to June 7. During their stay in Vienna, participants will have the chance to better familiarize themselves with the local industrial and startup ecosystem.

Participants will be able to network with startups and potential investors at various events during the ViennaUP’23 conference, and they will also be able to visit renowned industrial companies that are involved as partners. The program also includes meetings with representatives of large firms and presentations on financing opportunities.

In addition, the organizers offer special training sessions during which participants can learn more about business development and investment readiness. Participation in this program opens doors for scaleup companies to potential funding through the innovation community (up to 400,000 euros) as well as access to their network of partners. Additionally, the organizers offer coaching and mentoring services for a duration of two months provided by experts from EIT Manufacturing.

The program is an excellent opportunity for business development beyond the home market by finding customers, partners, or investors – not only from Austria but across the region – emphasized Svetoslav Vasilev, director of Siviko and one of the participants in the 2021 program.

Companies that offer solutions in the manufacturing sector and are based in one of the 27 EU member states or are connected to the Horizon Europe program can apply. However, priority is given to the following countries: Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Companies can be established no more than eight years ago and must be able to demonstrate that they generate revenue.
